About the Job
PillarStar Capital
Charlotte, NC 28202 — In person | Full-time
Commission-based with a guaranteed minimum draw
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
PillarStar Capital is a business funding startup seeking an experienced closer to run daily sales activity and lead two remote agents.
You’ll own opportunities from qualification through funding, coach the agents, and report directly to ownership. This role requires someone who can manage the sales process independently and take responsibility for results.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Qualify business owners, present funding options, and close deals.
• Lead two remote agents handling outreach, follow-up, and document collection.
• Review applications and coordinate lender submissions and funding.
• Set daily priorities, coach agents, and monitor follow-through.
• Keep CRM records accurate, with a clear next action for every opportunity.
• Report weekly on applications, funded deals, collected commissions, and team performance.
WHAT YOU BRING
• Proven experience closing merchant cash advance or alternative business funding transactions.
• Working knowledge of lender submissions, funding offers, and deal coordination.
• Experience coaching salespeople or supervising remote agents.
• Strong follow-up, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to run daily sales operations without close supervision.
• Verifiable production history and professional references.
• Availability to work in person in Charlotte.
COMPENSATION
Commission is based on eligible brokerage commission revenue actually received by PillarStar, not the amount funded:
• 10% on deals you close from company-provided leads, including leads developed by our paid remote agents.
• 15% on deals you independently source and close.
For example, when PillarStar receives $5,000 in eligible brokerage commission revenue, your commission is $500 on a company-provided deal or $750 on an independently sourced deal.
A nonrecoverable draw guarantees at least the applicable minimum wage, currently $7.25 per hour in North Carolina, with applicable overtime paid.
The draw counts toward earned commissions; it is not additional base pay. When earned commissions exceed the draw for the settlement period, you receive the difference. Any shortfall does not carry forward as employee debt.
Actual earnings depend on production. The written compensation plan will define lead attribution, eligible revenue, renewals, split deals, chargebacks, and when commissions are earned and paid. You will receive these terms before accepting an offer.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Performance is reviewed at 30, 60, and 90 days against written targets established before your start date, taking available lead flow and the sales cycle into account.
We evaluate funded production, collected commission revenue, follow-up, CRM accuracy, and team leadership.
Continued employment depends on meeting these expectations. Employment may end earlier if expectations are not met; the review schedule does not guarantee 90 days of employment.

1. What experience do you have closing MCA or alternative business funding deals?
